THIS EVENT IS CANCELLED DUE TO ILLNESS IN THE POWELL FAMILY. Members of the W.D. Powell family will be joining us for the morning worship service, followed by a potluck lunch and special presentation. William D. Powell started Powell's Chapel Baptist Church in 1875, but went on to have a remarkable life serving the Lord. His great granddaughter Charlotte Harris Rees, author of Courage, Endurance, Sacrifice: The Lives and Faith of Three Generations of Missionaries, will be sharing stories about Powell and his family following the luncheon. It turns out that the founding of Powell's Chapel was just the beginning of God's work in the life of this family.
